fitness_pr Who needs running coaching?

That's a good question, running is one of the best and most accessible type of exercise you can do. Apart from an up front investment in a suitable pair of trainers then it can be a completely cost free activity, that can be done anywhere, at any time and involve as many or as few other people as you like.

So, again why have running coaching...well to help answer this question I have listed some of the main reasons why people do have running coaching and some of the main benefits that runners of any ability could get from some training.

Reasons why some people use running coaching:

- Beginners starting out running for the first time
- Motivation and running partner to help maintain focus and stick to a goal
- 1-1 bespoke training and the personal attention that you can't get in a running club or on your own
- Training for a specific event, 5k, 10k, Half Marathon, Marathon
- Signed up to run for a charity
- Existing runners looking to improve times
- Existing runners looking to change distances
- Experience and learn new training styles and techniques
  

 Some of the benefits that anyone can get from Running Coaching

- Taught effective pre session warm up exercises, stretches and what not to do
- Taught effective post session cool down and stretching
- Identify muscular weaknesses and strengthen to improve running performance
- Identify postural issues/imbalances and offer corrective techniques to improve running economy
- Improve cardiovascular/aerobic (with oxygen) fitness
- Improve anaerobic (without oxygen) fitness

Why? Because I can and will help you hit your goals.
Whether you're an absolute beginner looking to get into running, a hit and miss runner looking to take up a new challenge or an established runner working towards a new PB (or distance). I am a passionate runner who understands how difficult it can be to start running or to take yourself outside of your comfort zone. Through a mixture of training styles and techniques I can help you to achieve your potential.

Finally, in terms of the session themselves, I can assure you that I will run with you coaching and motivating as we go. You may think that is obvious but actually this is one of the main USP's of Jigsaw. There are far more PT's out there who will simply send you off on laps and hold a stopwatch. Now to be a good coach you don't have to run with your clients, in fact if you're training elite performers it's rarely even an option. However, I've found that it helps motivate my clients and it is also the best way for me to assess the intensity they're working at using tools like the talk test, breathing rate test and through utilising a simple perceived rate of exertion scale.
