Maybe you want to start running, maybe you already run on your own or with a friend. Whatever your running background you can benefit from our Running Club Sessions. Apart from the social aspect and friendly encouragement that comes with training in a group environment you will benefit from a varied running specific workout.
It goes without saying that running will be integral to the sessions but they are not simply guided runs. The training will focus on strengthening the key muscles involved in running, as well as ensuring you train your different energy systems for improved performance and recovery. Our sessions focus on running specific exercises and incorporate different training methodologies to improve running economy, increase aerobic endurance, improve muscular endurance & target specific movement Patterns.

So what Is Involved?
Sessions run every Saturday from 8.10 - 8.55am located at the fantastic venue of Trent Park
Sessions are a mixture of long easy runs, hill training and interval training, they are designed to accommodate mixed running abilities so speed is not a pre-requisite although you should be comfortable running at an easy pace for 15-20mins. If you are unsure whether they are right for you then contact Adam who will happily answer any of your questions.
The sessions are immediately followed by the Jigsaw Group Training sessions from 9-10am. These contain less running and therefore, if you're just starting out training, they can be a perfect way to build up your fitness before taking the plunge into the Jigsaw running club.
If interested but this location is not suitable, then please still register stating where you live and we can keep you informed when new sessions open nearer to you in North & Central London.

Note: Some water will be provided and water breaks are designed into each session.
Training will take place irrespective of the weather, that's half the fun and for me personally I much prefer a cooling shower and breeze in ever changing outdoor surroundings to a repetitive treadmill staring endlessly at the same fixed view.
Please wear suitable clothing, any normal workout gear which allows comfortable ease of movement will do. Ideally choose clothes that you can wear in layers, as once you warm up throughout a session you may want to remove a layer.
I would suggest getting a decent pair of running specific trainers, any good running store will be able to provide a free gait analysis and suggest appropriate footwear bespoke to your foot type (over-pronator, under-pronator etc)
